Matt Carmichael

Matt Carmichael currently serves as an English teacher and Sustainability Coordinator at New Collaborative Learning Trust, focusing on A-Levels in English Literature and English Language and Literature. With a strong commitment to sustainability, Matt has played a pivotal role in developing policies at both the Trust and college levels. As a Climate Commissioner with the Leeds Climate Commission since November 2017, Matt collaborates across various sectors to promote decarbonisation and create effective climate communication strategies. Additionally, Matt has advised on organizational strategy at Larger Us and has extensive teaching experience, including pioneering climate change education at Roundhay School. Founder of Our Future Leeds Schools, Matt initiated community engagement efforts to address the climate emergency. Matt's educational background includes a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from the University of Durham.
