Karen Hardy

Karen Hardy has extensive experience in the field of counseling and education, serving as the Owner and President of Educate Malawi, Inc. since 2008, where the mission focuses on promoting educational opportunities for residents of Malawi. Concurrently, Karen has worked as a Counselor at New Directions since 2007, conducting assessments and referring DUI offenders to further treatment. Previous roles include Correctional Substance Abuse Counselor with the Department of Corrections from 2003 to 2011 and retirement from the Connecticut Department of Correction, where significant experience was gained in facilitating groups and managing caseloads. Additional roles include Correctional Counselor positions at Carl Robinson Correctional Facility and Northern Correctional Institution, alongside early experience as a Social Worker Trainee at Enfield Correctional Institution, solidifying a strong background in both correctional and educational environments.
