Robert Waters has a wealth of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on mental health. Robert began their career in 1979 as the Director of Research and Evaluation at the Tennessee Department of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities. After 13 years in this role, they transitioned to the Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations, where they served as the Director of Research, Planning, and Development. In 1995, Waters joined Magellan Health Services as the National VP of Account Management, a position they held for nearly two decades. Most recently, they worked at New Directions Behavioral Health as the Corporate Vice President of Health Plan Account Management, starting in 2014. Throughout their career, Waters has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving mental healthcare and fostering partnerships with various organizations.

Robert Waters earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia, spanning from 1969 to 1974. Then, from 1977 to 1979, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Social Work at the University of Tennessee, Nashville Branch.
