Erik Berglof

Erik Berglof is a Swedish economist who has served in various leadership positions in academia and international organizations. Erik is currently the director of the New Economic School in Moscow.

Berglof began their career as a professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, where they taught from 1996 to 2005. Erik then served as president of CEFIR, an economic research center in Moscow, from 2000 to 2006. In 2006, they joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where they served as chief economist until 2014.

Berglof has also been involved with the Brookings Institution, the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), and the Institute of Global Affairs at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Erik was a member of the G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance from July 2017 to November 2018.

Berglof's research focuses on economic growth, financial stability, and corporate governance.
