Jonathan Orpin is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the timber and reclaimed wood industry. As a Member of the Board of Directors for the Timber Framers Guild since 2010, Jonathan has contributed valuable insights to the organization. As the Owner and Founder of New Energy Works since 1988, Jonathan has established a company that focuses on fully manufactured reclaimed wood products sourced and produced in the USA, emphasizing health and community welfare. Additionally, Jonathan is the Owner and Founder of Pioneer Millworks, which has evolved from a small timber frame company into a significant employer of nearly 100 individuals, including designers, timberwrights, engineers, and craftspeople, over a span of nearly three decades.

For over thirty years, New Energy Works has been one of the nation's preeminent timber frame and post and beam builders. We offer a range of services including timber frame design and engineering, high performance enclosures, fine woodworking, and of course, some of the most elegant and lyrical timber frames in the industry. We’ve had the privilege of working with some great clients. Some have been struggling young couples who want a modest home in the Finger Lakes region of New York – others have been high-end architects and builders creating magnificent lodges high in the mountains of Colorado. Their common denominator is the love of fine wood, elegant design and old-world craftsmanship.
