Dawn Gibson-Brehon

Dawn Gibson-Brehon is an experienced arts management professional currently serving on the Board of Directors for the New England Foundation for the Arts since July 2022. Since August 2012, Dawn has held the position of Assistant Professor in Practice of Arts Management at SUNY Purchase. Dawn has also been a freelance consultant with GBCo / Gibson & Brehon & Company since August 2009. Previously, Dawn managed projects at The Apollo Theater from November 2009 to June 2020, worked as a Peer Advisor for the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism from May 2009 to June 2012, and served as Program Manager for the International Festival of Arts and Ideas from December 2009 to June 2011. Dawn's career in the arts includes leadership roles such as Executive Director of Evidence, A Dance Company, and Director of the Presenting Program and World Theater at California State University, Monterey Bay. Dawn's educational background includes two M.A. degrees in arts administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Wisconsin School of Business, along with a B.MUS in music management from the University of Hartford.
