Richard Knott

Richard Knott is an accomplished housing professional with extensive experience in both strategic and operational roles within local government. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Housing at New Forest District Council since May 2018, Richard leads statutory housing functions, oversees a landlord operation with a £32 million turnover, and manages initiatives to enhance services under the Social Housing Residents Charter and to achieve zero carbon emissions. Previous roles include Service Manager for Housing Options at Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership, Principal Housing Solutions Manager at South Derbyshire District Council, and various positions at Orchard Information Systems and South Derbyshire District Council. Richard holds a BSc in Housing Studies from De Montfort University, obtained between 1999 and 2003.
