Shimon Hama

Shimon Hama is an Associate Director of Investments at New Forests, focusing on investments in Southeast Asia, including deal structuring, due diligence, negotiations, and operational support since January 2023. Previously, Shimon held the position of Manager at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., where responsibilities included forestry asset investment and the execution of international transactions, notably leading the joint acquisition of a fund management company and launching a carbon credit timberland fund. Shimon's experience also includes roles as Deputy Director of Legal at the Board of Audit of Japan, where auditing responsibilities involved overseeing substantial governmental expenditures, and as a Legal Consultant at the Legislative Bureau of the House of Representatives. Earlier experiences encompass various auditing roles at the Board of Audit of Japan and a position in product management at SolarBridge Technologies. Shimon holds an MBA from Texas McCombs School of Business and a BA in Sociology from Tokyo Metropolitan University.
