James Tolhurst

James Tolhurst's work experience begins with their most recent role as a Geoscience Data Manager at New Found Gold Corp, where they started in September 2022. Prior to that, they worked for Adventus Mining Corporation as a Manager of Data & GIS from November 2019 to September 2022. From October 2016 to October 2019, Tolhurst served as a GIS/Database Manager at TMAC Resources Inc. Before that, they were a GIS Geologist at Detour Gold Corporation from July 2012 to October 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Project Geologist at Romios Gold Resources Inc. from June 2011 to April 2012. Starting in 2004, Tolhurst owned and operated Tolhurst Mineral Exploration and Consulting until 2012. During that time, they also held positions as a Project Geologist at Eastmain Resources Inc. from May 2006 to May 2011, and at Strikepoint Gold from August 2008 to August 2009. Tolhurst's career began as a Student Geologist at Phoenix Matachewan Mines Inc. from May 2004 to September 2005.

James Tolhurst earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Earth Sciences from Carleton University, where they attended from 2001 to 2006. Prior to their university education, they completed their high school education at Opeongo High School from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their academic qualifications, James also obtained certifications such as Professional Geologist from the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario in August 2012, First Aid (CPR/AED) from the Saint Johns Ambulance Service in January 2019, and Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification from the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
