Jim Bono has over 30 years of experience in the communications field. Jim began their career in 1986 as the Director/Associate Director at News 12 Long Island. In 1992, they moved to NY1 News as an Operations Associate and then to CBS News as a Production Associate in 1993. In 1997, they took on the role of Deputy Press Secretary at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York. Jim then moved to Donaudy Munch Marketing Communications as the Director of Public Relations in 1999. In 2000, they became the Communication Director at the New York State Senate. In 2001, they took on the role of Deputy Inspector General, Intergovernmental and Public Affairs at the NY Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Office of the Inspector General. In 2007, they moved to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory as the Director of Public Affairs. In 2009, they began working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as the Manager of Strategic Communication & Outreach, Innovation & Partnerships Office, Program Manager/Special Assistant to the Laboratory Dep. Dir. for Innovative Communication, and Director of Public Affairs. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Chief Communications Officer at New Frontier Aerospace.
Jim Bono obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communications from LIU Post between 1981 and 1986. Jim then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco between 2014 and 2016.
