Manager, Water Strategy And Stewardship at New Gold

Emily O'Hara, P.Eng. has extensive work experience in the field of environmental engineering. Emily started their career in 2007 as an Environmental Design Consultant at WSP Lincolne Scott. From 2010 to 2016, Emily worked as an Environmental Engineer at New Gold, where they were responsible for various tasks including ISO compliance, waste management, regulatory reporting, and environmental monitoring. Emily also worked on sustainability initiatives and was an active member of the Mine's Rescue Team. In 2016, Emily joined Teck Resources Limited as a Senior Water Resource Engineer. Here, they worked on the HVC 2040 Project, overseeing water and tailings components such as data collection, modeling, Indigenous engagement, and permitting planning. Emily also supported the development of environmental assessment and permit applications. In 2022, Emily joined New Gold Inc. as the Manager of Water Strategy and Stewardship, where they are currently engaged in overseeing water-related strategies and stewardship efforts.

Emily O'Hara, P.Eng. completed their education at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) from 2005 to 2010. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on International Business.
