Heather Garnos has a diverse work experience in the publishing industry. Heather started their career in 1996 at Ten Speed Press, where they worked as an Assistant to the Publisher and later as an Editor. In 1999, they joined New Harbinger Publications as an Editorial Manager. Heather held this role until 2005. From 2006 to 2013, they worked as a Prepublication Director at New Harbinger Publications. Heather then transitioned to the role of Vice President, Publishing Operations until 2022. In addition, Heather has served as a member of the Board of Directors for New Harbinger Publications since 2012. In 2019, they also worked as a Behavior Consultant and Coach. Currently, Heather is the Chief Operating Officer at New Harbinger Publications.

Heather Garnos has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of California, Berkeley. Heather completed this degree at an unspecified time. In 2020, Heather began pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Applied Behavior Analysis at Western Connecticut State University. Heather completed this program in 2021.
