Jim Stamatis is former chief executive officer of Louis Berger. The company was acquired by WSP in 2018. Louis Berger was an infrastructure, engineering, environmental science and economic development company, based in Morristown, NJ. The company’s portfolio included iconic landmarks in the United States, including the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, Statue of Liberty, George Washington Bridge, and the World Trade Center. Mr. Stamatis also served as president, Louis Berger International, where he was responsible for Europe, Africa/Middle East, Asia and Central/South America operations and group vice president and president of US Operations. Mr. Stamatis also is a retired soccer player. He played professionally in the North American Soccer League (NASL), Major Indoor Soccer League, and American Soccer League. He attended Pennsylvania State University from 1976 to 1979, and, in his senior year, he received the Robert Hermann Trophy from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He trained for the 1980 Olympics and was drafted that year by the NASL’s San Diego Sockers. He later coached several community and traveling teams. Mr. Stamatis received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from NJIT in 1985.
