Matt Riegel

Adjunct Professor - Civil Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology

Matt Riegel, PE, D GE, is an accomplished professional in civil and geotechnical engineering with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as a Lecturer at Rutgers University since January 2022, Riegel holds the position of HNTB Fellow and Vice President of Geotechnical and Foundation Design Services at HNTB since January 2007. Riegel also contributes to the field as an Adjunct Professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology since 2003. Earlier career roles include Senior Project Manager for Geotechnical at Hatch Mott MacDonald and Engineer at AG Lichtenstein & Associates, among others. Matt Riegel earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, following an Associate's degree in Engineering Science from Bergen Community College.
