Joel Gokool

Joel Gokool is an accomplished human resources executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as the Chief of Human Resources at NJ TRANSIT since August 2024, Joel previously held the position of Head of Human Resources at the Gateway Development Commission from February 2023 to August 2024, and Deputy Chief of Human Resources at NJ TRANSIT from September 2021 to February 2023. Joel's background includes over a decade at the State of New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where responsibilities ranged from Senior HR Business Advisor focusing on HR transformation to various HR roles emphasizing employee engagement and strategic support. Joel holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Forensic Accounting Certificate from John Jay College.
