Heather Black has a diverse work experience. Heather started their career in 2002 as a Social Worker at CYFD and worked there until 2005. In 2006, they joined Lovelace Health System as an RN until 2009. From 2007 to 2012, they worked at CYFD as a Medical Transition Coordinator. In 2013, they joined the New Mexico Department of Health, first as the Director of Nursing Services and later as the Chief Nurse for the Public Health Department.
Heather Black earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from The University of New Mexico in 2006. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Social Work at Southwest Minnesota State University from 1997 to 2002.
