Craig Toomey is a seasoned professional in emergency management and marine operations with extensive experience in both public and private sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director of Emergency Management and Director of Marine Operations at the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, Craig effectively liaises between the city and third-party marine operators, overseeing a ferry service that serves approximately 626,000 passengers annually while maintaining a 96% service reliability rate. Previously, Craig held various managerial roles at Blessey Marine Services, where responsibilities included managing internal safety audits and compliance for a large fleet, and at the U.S. Coast Guard for 15 years, where leadership encompassed compliance and incident investigations, vessel inspections, and policy development. Craig earned an MBA and an MS in Supply Chain Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, along with a BS in Government from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
