James Mitchell

James Mitchell is an accomplished project management professional with extensive experience in water infrastructure and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as Project Manager Lead for Three Waters at New Plymouth District Council, responsibilities include overseeing wastewater and water treatment projects. Previous roles include Site Manager at Beca, where management of a team of engineers and procurement specialists occurred for capital projects in Indonesia, and Senior Mechanical Engineer at Bluescope’s Glenbrook Steel Mill, leading numerous high-value projects. Additional experience spans senior mechanical engineering and project management roles in various firms, including Cardno and McConnell Dowell, focusing on water and wastewater treatment upgrades and large-scale construction management. James holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (with Honours) from the University of Canterbury.
