Brian Faivre is an experienced professional in the brewing industry. Brian has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.
In 2002, they started as an Assistant Brewer at San Francisco Brewing Company and later became a Brewer at Broken Drum in 2003.
In 2004, Faivre joined Deschutes Brewery, where they worked in multiple positions. Brian started as a Brewer, responsible for brewhouse operations and fermentation processes. During their time at Deschutes Brewery, Faivre implemented a system to record and visualize operational data, leading to improved efficiency and cost reduction. Brian also served as an Assistant Brewmaster, overseeing process automation and system design. Later, they became the Brewmaster, managing budget and quality assurance for the overall brewery operation. Faivre successfully utilized machine learning to reduce fermentation cycle times.
In 2017, Faivre founded The Brewery Pi Project, an open-source project aimed at helping breweries improve efficiency and quality through data analysis.
In 2021, Faivre worked as the Vice President of Brewery Operations at TRU Colors, where they oversaw day-to-day brewery operations and mentored active gang members in brewery roles.
Faivre's most recent role is at New Realm Brewing, where they started in 2021 as the Head Brewer. Brian was responsible for overall brewery operations including brewhouse, cellar, maintenance, and packaging lines. Brian also utilized Microsoft Teams to improve communication and content management. In 2022, Faivre was promoted to the Director of Brewing & Distilling Operations, overseeing multiple locations and playing a key role in the organization's success. Brian managed quality assurance, maintenance, supply chain, production accounting, and co-packing relationships.

Brian Faivre's education history includes various programs and degrees in different fields of study. In 1994, they attended Santa Rosa Junior College and obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in General Studies in 1997. Following that, in 1997 they enrolled at the University of California, Davis to pursue Computer Science, although no degree is specified for this period. Brian then transferred to California State University, Sacramento in 1998 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science in 2000.
In 2004, Brian completed the Master Brewers Program at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education. Brian has also acquired additional certifications throughout their career. In October 2020, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from ASQ - World Headquarters.
