Jian Liao

Jian Liao is a highly experienced technology entrepreneur and engineer with a focus on innovative solutions in the fields of augmented reality, data engineering, and product development. Currently serving as Co-Founder and CTO at a stealth startup since November 2022, Jian also holds the position of Founder in Residence at Entrepreneur First, where the emphasis is on creating a more interactive and empathetic internet. Previous roles include Co-Founder and CTO of Petionship, leading the development of a SaaS tool for pet business management, and significant contributions to research as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Calgary, resulting in a first-author paper accepted at UIST'22. Jian's career also includes data engineering roles at CNOOC International and various internships that emphasize embedded systems and product design, notably a lifesaving opioid overdose monitoring system and a sunscreen detection device. Jian holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary.
