Community Engagement Coordinator at New Star

Christine Rechsteiner, CVA, has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Christine most recently worked at New Star Inc. as a Community Engagement Coordinator starting in December 2019. Prior to that, they served as a Volunteer Supervisor at JourneyCare from February 2018 to September 2019. In this role, they managed a large non-profit hospice volunteer program, matched volunteers with patients, and organized volunteer opportunities for various groups. From August 2012 to February 2018, Christine was the Director of Children's Ministry at Wheatland Salem Church. Christine also has experience as a Campus Ministry Coordinator at Northern Illinois Lutheran Church Missiori Synod from May 2006 to February 2012, where they successfully transitioned an existing congregation to a new start-outreach congregation and organized various programs and events. Additionally, Christine has past experience in residential facility work from September 1989 to August 1996.

Christine Rechsteiner, CVA completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology and Theater and Television Arts from Valparaiso University, where they attended from 1989 to 1993. Additionally, they have obtained two additional certifications. In December 2018, they became Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) from the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. Most recently, in December 2021, they achieved a Leadership Certificate - Master Level from Asbury Theological Seminary.
