Nate Heegaard

Co-founder & Advisor at New Use Energy

Nate Heegaard has a diverse work history, beginning in 2009 when they served as a Spring Intern for the Office of Congresswoman Betty McCollum. In 2010, they worked as an Intern for The Advocates for Human Rights, where they completed interviews with immigrants and worked on research projects. From 2011-2013, Heegaard worked as a Waterfowl and Pheasant Hunting Guide for Rolling Plains Adventures, an Administrative Worker and Program Associate for Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center, and a Marketing and Operations Manager for Enova Illumination. In 2016, Heegaard became the Chief Outdoors Officer for Gaard One. In 2019, they co-founded rent.solar and became a Solar Specialist, Field Tech, and Education/Training for Footprint Project. In 2020, they co-founded New Use Energy and in 2021 they became a Solar Specialist on the Energy Team and Advisor for Battery Tour.

Nate Heegaard began their educational journey in 2006 when they attended the International People's College, studying Area, Ethnic, Cultural, Gender, and Group Studies. Nate then moved on to Concordia College in 2007, where they studied Political Science until 2009. In 2009, Heegaard received their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Business from the University of Oregon. In 2011, Heegaard completed a Certificate of completion: Waterfowl Hunting Guide course from Swan Mountain Wilderness Guide School. In addition to their formal education, Heegaard has also obtained certifications in CPR from eCPRcerfification and a Hunting Guide Certification from the North Dakota Department of Natural Resources.
