Marisa Harford

Director of Development at New Visions for Public Schools

Marisa Harford has a diverse work experience. Marisa started their career in 2001 as a Teacher at The New York City Department of Education. In 2005, they worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Lehman College, CUNY. Later, in 2008, they joined New Visions for Public Schools and held various roles including Deputy Director, Teacher Certification; Senior Program Officer, Urban Teacher Residency; Director, Teacher Residencies; and Director, Teacher Development. As of now, they are the Director of Development at New Visions for Public Schools.

Marisa Harford has a strong educational background. Marisa obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from Yale University in 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Secondary English Education at City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College from 2001 to 2003. In 2013, Marisa enrolled in Hunter College and completed an Advanced Certificate in Teacher, School, and Building Leadership, specializing in School and Building Leadership from 2013 to 2015.

In addition to their degrees, Marisa also holds various certifications. In September 2004, they obtained their permanent English Teacher (7-12) certification from the New York State Education Department. Marisa later went on to achieve two more certifications in 2016. In February 2016, Marisa obtained their School Building Leader certification from the New York State Department of Education. Additionally, they earned their School District Leader certification from the same institution in December 2016. These certifications, along with their academic qualifications, reflect Marisa's dedication to developing their skills as an educational leader and ensuring their proficiency in various aspects of school administration and teaching.
