Brett Burgstahler

Senior Electrical Engineer at New Wave DV

Brett Burgstahler is a senior electrical engineer who has a strong background in FPGA engineering and chip integration. Brett worked at New Wave Design and Verification from 2015 onwards, where they developed and modified Verilog and VHDL designs for defense and medical device clients. Brett utilized Xilinx Vivado with Kintex Ultrascale and Artix 7 devices for their work.

Prior to that, Brett worked at IMRIS, Deerfield Imaging as a software engineer from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they were the technical lead on a 3-person team responsible for developing haptic feedback for a surgical robot. Brett managed project and technical aspects, including the development of electronics, firmware, and data link software.

Before IMRIS, Brett was a software engineer at Beckman Coulter from 2010 to 2013. Brett collaborated on a cross-site project and developed software to meet stringent FDA standards. Brett also participated in the Innovation Fellowship Program, where they gained experience in software and firmware development.

Brett's work experience also includes an internship at OakRiver Technology in 2008, where they served as a lead systems engineer. Brett engineered machines for a stent manufacturer and managed hardware system designs from beginning to procurement.
