Marc de Smidt currently serves as Sr Director of Engineering at New Way® Trucks, beginning in October 2024. Prior roles include Vice President of Engineering & Operations at Kindred Motorworks, where Marc led the development of a new EV platform in under six months, and VP of Refuse Performance Applications at Autocar Trucks, overseeing engineering and production aspects for refuse applications. Marc's career also encompasses various engineering management roles at Joy Global, Triz Engineering Solutions, and the South African Air Force, highlighting extensive experience in mechanical and industrial engineering. Marc holds multiple degrees from the University of Pretoria, including a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering/Industrial Management.
