Samuel Guren

Sam Guren has an extensive background in venture capital and private equity, currently serving as a member of New World Angels since January 2022 and as a strategic advisor at OCA Ventures since September 2008. Guren founded and was the managing partner at Bridge Angel Investors from December 2017 to December 2021 and served as a board member at The Debt Exchange until December 2021. Previous roles include managing director at Hyde Park Angels from 2008 to October 2011, managing director at Robert W. Baird & Co. from 1996 to 1999, and principal at William Blair & Company, where notable investments included Staples and the founding of Sports Authority. Guren also held the position of vice president at Continental Illinois Venture Corporation from 1975 to 1981 with investments in Apple Computer and Yoplait. Early career experiences involved teaching and coaching at Cleveland Public Schools and playing rugby at Cleveland Blues Rugby Club. Guren earned an MBA in Accounting and Finance from The Wharton School and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
