Michael Coppola

Michael Coppola has extensive work experience in various engineering and management roles. Michael is currently the Director of Engineering at the New York Athletic Club since 2017. Previously, they worked as the Owner/Lead Consultant at MAC Consulting Services, providing facility and property inspection and consulting services. Michael also served as the Dual Director of Engineering at Marriott International, overseeing engineering and security staff at two hotels in the Herald Square area.

Prior to that, Michael Coppola was the Director of Engineering at St. Regis Hotel NY, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where they directed maintenance, repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects. Michael also has experience as the Site Manager of 26 Federal Plaza at ABM Industries, responsible for a multi-million dollar maintenance contract with the US Government.

Earlier in their career, Michael Coppola served as the Vice President of Management at Cohen Brothers Reality Corp. LLC, managing commercial office buildings. Michael also worked as the Director of Property Operations at Park Central Hotel/Manhattan Club, where they managed engineering staff and facilitated the conversion of hotel rooms to timeshare suites.

Additionally, they have experience as the Director of Operations/Building Manager at HJ Kalikow Company, overseeing budgeting, maintenance, and tenant relations. Michael began their career as the Chief Engineer and Assistant Building Manager at William A White/Grubb & Ellis.

Michael Coppola began their education by attending the High School of Art & Design from 1974 to 1977. During this time, they focused on studying Architecture & Architectural Engineering. Following high school, Coppola attended Farmingdale State College from 1979 to 1981, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Thermal & HVAC design and operation.

In 1987, Coppola enrolled at BOMI Institute and completed a program, earning a degree as a Real Property Administrator (RPA). This program lasted from 1987 to 1990.

Apart from their formal education, Coppola has also obtained various certifications. In 1993, they obtained an EPA Universal Refrigeration Technician certification from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. In 1996, they received an Asbestos Handlers Certification/class A from the New York State Department of Labor.

More recently, in 2013, Coppola obtained a Con Std/Sprk Gravity Tank certification from the New York City Fire Department. In 2014, they obtained two certifications: Fire Safety Director from the New York City Fire Department and COF Refrigeration Operator, also from the New York City Fire Department. Lastly, in 2015, Coppola obtained a ServSafe certification from ANSI. It is worth noting that Coppola also earned a Real Property Administrator certification from the BOMI Institute, although the specific details regarding when and where they obtained this certification are not provided.
