Vidya Pappachan is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various roles within the legal and community sectors. Currently serving as President Elect and former Vice President of the South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY), Pappachan is also a member of the New York City Bar Association, where leadership includes chairing the Working Group on Racial Equity in NY State Courts. Prior roles include member of Queens Community Board 11 and Senior Court Attorney for Hon. Josh E. Hanshaft within the New York State Unified Court System. Pappachan has significant experience as a Staff Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice at The Legal Aid Society. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and an International Business Law Certificate from Queen Mary University of London.
