Merin Elizabeth Urban

Merin Elizabeth Urban possesses extensive experience in legal counsel and public service, currently serving as Assistant General Counsel at the New York City Housing Development Corporation since September 2015. Previous roles include Associate Counsel at the New York State Housing Finance Agency/State of New York Mortgage Agency from September 2014 to August 2015, and Executive Agency Counsel at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development from 2006 to August 2014. Earlier career highlights include serving as Executive Director of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and Deputy Director of the NY Landmarks Conservancy. Merin Urban began an initial legal career as an Associate Attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP from 1985 to 1989. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a focus on Architectural History from Colgate University.
