Farhan Abdullah

Farhan Abdullah has extensive work experience in various roles within the New York City government. Farhan is currently serving as the Director of Software Development at the NYC School Construction Authority, where they manage a team responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of software development projects. Prior to this, Farhan worked at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, where they held positions such as Director Business Technology Support, Director Production Support, and Technical Support and Operations Manager. Farhan also has experience as an IT Service Desk Manager and Deputy IT Service Desk Manager at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection. Additionally, early in their career, Farhan worked as a Retirement Examiner at the NYC Employees' Retirement System. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in IT project management, strategic planning, data analytics, process automation, and IT service delivery.

Farhan Abdullah completed their Master's degree in Cybersecurity from NYU Tandon School of Engineering from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Accounting from Queens College.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Farhan has acquired several certifications to enhance their skills. Farhan obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from GIAC Certifications in February 2019. In January 2018, they completed the GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF) certification. Farhan also holds the CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications from CompTIA, obtained in May and April 2009, respectively.

Farhan has obtained multiple certifications from Microsoft. Farhan earned the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals certification in September 2022, followed by the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals certification in December 2022. In January 2023, they obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification. Farhan has also completed the OpenHack: Security, Compliance, and Identity program offered by Microsoft OpenHack in August 2021.

Furthermore, Farhan has completed the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in July 2023 and the Introduction to Prompt Engineering for Generative AI course from LinkedIn in March 2023.
