Maria Arias, P.E. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in project management and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as a Project Officer at the NYC School Construction Authority since July 2022, Maria oversees the design and construction of projects with budgets ranging from $2M to $355M. Prior to this role, Maria worked at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection from February 2019 to July 2022, holding positions as Assistant Mechanical Engineer and Assistant Project Manager, where responsibilities included managing project scope, schedule, and budget, as well as conducting technical reviews of construction plans. Earlier experience includes internships at Pratt & Whitney and GE Transportation, focused on manufacturing process improvements and advanced engine technologies. Maria holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from The City College of New York and participated in a study abroad program at Florence University of the Arts.
