Udayan Nair

Udayan Nair is an experienced energy professional currently serving as the Director of Grid Transition at NYISO since April 2023, focusing on preparing the grid for increased demand from electrification and integrating new generation resources. Previously, Udayan held the position of Senior Manager of Day-Ahead and Real-Time Markets at Ontario Power Generation, managing operations for a 16,000 MW portfolio of assets. Udayan's extensive career at IESO includes roles such as Engineering Manager for Power System Limits and Control Room Support, where collaborative leadership and operational efficiency were prioritized. Udayan also has experience in trading and system performance from positions at ENMAX and AESO. Udayan holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master of Engineering in Power Systems from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor.
