The mission of New York Junior Tennis & Learning is to develop the character of young people through tennis and education for a lifetime of success on and off the court.  Since 1971, NYJTL has changed lives through tennis, education, healthy living, and character development programs.  Today, it is the largest youth tennis and education non-profit in the nation, reaching 85,000 K-12 New York City youth. NYJTL celebrates the diversity of the children who participate in every program, providing three million hours of year-round tennis and education programming serving youth from all five New York City boroughs.  All NYJTL Community Tennis and Afterschool programs are offered at no cost to participants.

On June 15, 2015, NYJTL opened their flagship home, the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning, to wide acclaim with more than 500 donors and guests joining in the celebration.The Cary Leeds Center provides free year-round instruction and play for youth ages 5-18, from beginners to nationally-ranked junior players. There is also space for educators to help youth improve school performance. With access to classroom space and study centers, teachers offer young people a quiet and safe place to benefit from a wide variety of educational programs.

The Program and Activity Coordination Team at New York Junior Tennis & Learning orchestrates and manages a diverse range of educational and athletic programs aimed at developing young people's character and skills. The team collaborates to design and implement activities, ensuring a seamless integration of tennis instruction, educational initiatives, and enrichment activities. Through their coordinated efforts, they provide structured, engaging, and supportive environments for K-12 youth across all five New York City boroughs, leveraging the unique talents of each team member to foster growth and success both on and off the court.
