Abigail Carmer

Abigail Carmer has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Currently, they are the Education Director at NY Kids Club & NY Preschool, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at A House on Beekman as an Assistant Director from July 2021 to August 2022. At the same organization, they also held other roles including Lead Preschool Teacher from August 2019 to August 2022, and Assistant Preschool Teacher from August 2017 to July 2019. Abigail also worked as a Private Piano Teacher from January 2015 to August 2022 under their own self-employment. Earlier in their career, they were a Nanny at SmartSitting from September 2015 to July 2016. Abigail also worked at the YMCA of Greater New York as a Music Teacher Substitute from July 2015 to January 2016, and as an Arts Camp Counselor from July 2015 to August 2015. Abigail served as an Accompanist at the Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis from December 2013 to May 2015. Abigail gained teaching experience as a Student Teacher at Jeremiah Gray Edison Elementary for a month in March and April 2015, and at Chapel Hill 7th and 8th Grade Center for two months in January and February 2015. Abigail Carmer pursued their education in a chronological order. In 2007, they attended Covenant Christian High School, where they did not obtain a specific degree or field of study. Following their high school education, from 2011 to 2015, Carmer enrolled at the University of Indianapolis, where they earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. In 2017, Carmer continued their education at Bank Street College of Education, graduating in 2020 with a Master's in Early Childhood, focusing on Early Childhood Education and Teaching. Additionally, in August 2021, Carmer obtained an Initial Educator Certificate in Early Childhood (Birth-2nd Grade) from the New York State institution.
