Alison Willmore

Alison Willmore is an accomplished film critic and culture writer, currently serving as a Film Critic at New York Magazine since September 2019. Previous experience includes roles as a Critic and Culture Writer at BuzzFeed from March 2014 to September 2019, and as a TV Editor at indieWIRE from March 2012 to March 2014. Alison has also worked as a Writer and Editor in a freelance capacity from January 2011 to January 2013 and as Online Content Coordinator for the Tribeca Film Institute from February 2011 to February 2012, where oversight of online content and social media was a key responsibility. Other notable positions include Online Editor for the Independent Film Channel from May 2004 to January 2011, Associate Editor at The Threepenny Review from May 2003 to December 2003, and Editorial Intern at Wired Magazine from November 2002 to March 2003. Alison holds a BA in English from Yale University, earned between 1998 and 2002.
