Kim Velsey

Kim Velsey is a seasoned journalist currently serving as a Senior Writer at New York Magazine since June 2021 and a Columnist and Contributor for The New York Times since 2016, where responsibilities include writing the Renters column and Brooklyn On the Market for the real estate section. Velsey previously held the position of Senior Editor at The New York Observer from March 2012 to June 2016 and worked as a Staff Writer at The Hartford Courant from 2010 to 2012. Early career includes the role of Events Editor at VIA Magazine from 2007 to 2009. Velsey holds a Master of Science degree from Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Chicago.
