Sophia Dongas

Sophia Dongas is a dedicated medical professional currently serving as a medical student at New York Medical College since July 2024. Prior to this role, Sophia completed a Master's degree in Physiology at Georgetown University from August 2023 to June 2024 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from Middlebury College. Experience includes working as a research technician and laboratory manager at NYU Langone Health from June 2021 to July 2023, where notable contributions involved optimizing DNA extraction protocols, providing technical support in various laboratory techniques, and conducting research on genetic interactions in disease models. In addition, Sophia has interned at The Field Museum, assisted in community outreach at Middlebury College's Mittleman Observatory, and participated in educational activities related to astrophysics.
