Girish Behal

Girish Behal PMP has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Girish started their career as a Project Engineer at Larsen and Toubro Ltd., working on various design/build projects. Girish then joined Curtis Partition Private Ltd. as a Project Engineer, where they were responsible for field operations, scheduling, and implementing project management software.

In 2003, Girish moved to Northeast Utilities and held multiple roles, including Assistant Engineer, Associate Engineer, and eventually Project Lead/Project Manager. During their time at Northeast Utilities, they managed various transmission substation construction projects, assisted in larger projects, and provided technical and commercial recommendations to management.

In 2011, Girish joined SNC-Lavalin as a Project Manager, where they successfully managed transmission and distribution projects in upstate New York, ranging from $500K to $30M. Girish also served as a Senior Project Manager and Director of Strategic Initiatives and Development, focusing on strategic growth areas, building industry networks, and providing due diligence and technical advisory services to clients in the renewable energy industry.

Currently, Girish holds the role of Vice President - Projects and Business Development at the New York Power Authority, overseeing projects and developing business opportunities.

Girish Behal PMP holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Rochester - Simon Business School, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Girish also has a MSEE degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earned from 2008 to 2011. In addition, Girish Behal PMP has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, completed from 1995 to 1999. Girish also holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the same university, which they achieved from 1992 to 1995. Girish Behal PMP is also a certified Project Management Professional, awarded by the Project Management Institute.
