Joshua Sussen-Soechting

Joshua Sussen-Soechting, P.E. has a diverse work experience that spans over different industries and roles. Joshua is currently working as the Director of Mechanical Engineering at New York Power Authority, where they oversee and coordinates engineering projects, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered within budget and timeline. Prior to this, they were the CEO & Senior Principal Engineer at Sussen Soechting Engineering Consultant PLLC, where they provided consulting services. Joshua also has experience in real estate property management as well as various roles at Con Edison, including Compliance, Energy Dispatcher, General Watch Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Operating Supervisor, Distribution Supervisor, and Estimator. Additionally, Joshua has worked in academia at both SUNY Maritime College and SUNY Delhi. Joshua began their career as a Quality Assurance Inspector at Precision Pipeline Solutions and served as a Field and Project Engineer at Balfour Beatty Construction.

Joshua Sussen-Soechting, P.E. has a diverse education history. In 2018, they obtained a Juris Doctor degree in Regulatory Law - Energy from New York Law School. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College from 2009 to 2011. Joshua also holds an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Engineering from the State University of New York at Delhi, obtained from 2006 to 2008. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained various certifications in areas such as system operation transmission, fuel-handling supervision, storage and handling of gases, petroleum pipeline operation, and hazardous materials. Joshua is also a licensed Professional Engineer. Furthermore, Joshua Sussen-Soechting, P.E. has been recognized as an Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America in 2006.
