James Loos

James Loos has had a successful career in the finance and administrative sectors. James is currently working as the Chief Financial Officer at the New York Proton Center since May 2023. Prior to this, James held various roles at NYU Langone Health, starting as the Corporate Controller at Lawrence Hospital Center in October 2000, before moving to Aptium Oncology, Inc. in April 2003, where they served as the Director of Finance. James returned to NYU Langone Health in May 2011, initially as the Associate Executive Director before being promoted to System Senior Administrative Director. James later served as the Sr. Director of Finance & Operations at the Perlmutter Cancer Center and the Administrative Director. Before joining Lawrence Hospital Center, James worked as a Senior Accountant & Consultant at Deloitte from October 1997 to October 2000.

James Loos obtained a Certificate in the Advanced Interdisciplinary Leadership Development Program from NYU Langone Academy in 2022. In 2016, they also received a Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. Prior to that, James Loos earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics & Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt from NYU Langone Medical Center, Chartered Global Management Accountant from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Certified Public Accountant from the New York State Education Department.
