Social Media Producer at New York Public Radio

Daniel Shapiro has a diverse work experience in various roles related to media production and content creation. Daniel started their career in 2013 as a Co-Director at MU Film Crew, where they filmed, edited, and livestreamed video content for clients. Daniel also served as an Associate Producer at NowThis, creating videos for the main page and focusing on broad news topics. In 2014, they worked as an Anchor, Staff Writer, Videographer, and Photographer at Future Sox, contributing to the website and hosting a weekly online video series. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Missouri while also serving as a Media Specialist at the Missouri After School Network, where they produced and directed video projects for after school programs. In 2017, they joined Thrillist as an Associate Producer, creating content for their Facebook Newsfeed. Daniel then worked as a Digital Producer at MSNBC from 2019 to 2020, before joining The Lincoln Project as a Digital Media Producer, creating video content and writing social media copy. Recently, they have worked as a Social Media Editor at MSNBC and is currently employed as a Social Media Producer at New York Public Radio.

Daniel Shapiro obtained a Bachelor of Journalism degree in Convergence Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in the years 2011-2015. Daniel further pursued their education at the same institution and received a Master's degree in Journalism from 2015-2020.
