Darnell Jefferson

Darnell Jefferson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Darnell began their career in 2000 as an Office Assistant at Carat USA and later worked as a Production Assistant at NBC News. In 2003, they joined WOR Radio as a News Assistant and Junior Reporter. Following this, in 2007, they worked as a Community Events Announcer at WHCR Radio and as a Production Associate at Affinity Research. In 2011, they founded their own venture, DarnellNewsMan, where they served as a Social Media Manager, Blogger, and Multimedia Journalist, focusing on news-related content. Darnell then transitioned to WNYC Radio in 2017, where they served as a WNYC Roving Reporter, pitching and developing stories, as well as producing and editing news segments. In 2013, they also started working at New York Public Radio, initially as a Senior Coordinator, responsible for day-to-day operations and office facilities management. Later, they took on the role of Digital Marketing/Voice-over Promos, where they contributed to WNYC Programming, pitched stories for Facebook Live, and provided voice-overs for commercials and sponsorships. Darnell also showcased their skills as an Instagram storyteller and influencer. Throughout their career, Darnell has demonstrated proficiency in various social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.

Darnell Jefferson attended Fordham University in 2017, where they participated in the Journalism Fellowship Program. Darnell focused on Audio Journalism-Narrative as their field of study. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, they attended City College of NY, majoring in Media Communications. Darnell's high school education took place from 1996 to 2000 at Norman Thomas High School, although the specific degree or field of study pursued during this time is unknown.
