Miyan Levenson has a diverse work experience in various roles. From 2011 to present, they worked as a Photographer for Miyan Levenson Photography and Marathon Foto, and as a Freelance Photographer for The Riverdale Press and The Jewish Week. In 2012, they also served as a Freelance News Anchor for WFUV.
In 2014, they joined New York Public Radio as a Per Diem Master Control Engineer, responsible for quality control of radio and web streams, monitoring audio chain, troubleshooting, and setting up ISDN connections. They also worked as a Per Diem Broadcast Engineer, running the control board for live broadcasts and handling fundraising. Additionally, they served as a Production Assistant for the Jonathan Schwartz Show, importing music, creating song cards, and coding music in DAVID audio database.
In 2015, Miyan worked as a Photographer for Clear Channel Outdoor until 2020. They then joined Audacy, Inc. in 2018 as a Traffic Reporter for 1010WINS/CBS, providing live and local traffic updates for the NYC Market.
In 2020, Miyan joined New York Public Radio as a Broadcast Engineer, and later became a News Host until 2021. Since 2022, they have been working at WQXR Radio as a Music Host, performing regular air shifts, operating broadcast equipment, conducting research, and creating content for each hour of music.
Miyan Levenson's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which was completed between 1986 and 1990. In 2013 and 2014, Miyan obtained a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor from The New School. Miyan also attended the International Center for Photography in 2011, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
