Dave Thoman has a diverse range of work experience. Dave started their career as an intern at the Kansas State Senate, where they tracked fiscal implications of bills and prepared written testimony. Dave then became a Rotary Youth Leadership Academy Director at Washburn University, where they oversaw staff and budget for a summer leadership camp. After that, they worked as a research associate at the Great Lakes Commission, focusing on climate change projects and funding strategies. Dave also served as a research associate at the University of Michigan, conducting research on sustainability methods for facilities. Dave later worked as an editor for FanSided, curating sports content and maximizing internet traffic. Currently, they are the Director of Hi/Lo Education, Energy, and Environment at the New York State Senate, where they lead a fiscal analysis team. Throughout their various roles, Dave has developed strong research, analytical, and leadership skills.
Dave Thoman completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, History, and Leadership Studies from Washburn University in the years 2004 to 2008. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Energy Economics at the University of Michigan from 2008 to 2010.
