Michael Press

Michael Press currently serves as Senior Counsel in the Office of Majority Counsel and Program for Environmental Conservation, as well as Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation, within the New York State Senate since March 2019. With previous experience as Associate Counsel in the same office and Legislative Director and Policy Director for New York State Senator Shelley Mayer, Michael has a strong background in legislative and environmental policy. Prior to these roles, Michael was an Associate Attorney at Gunderson Dettmer, where responsibilities included advising start-up companies and managing corporate transactions. Michael’s educational background includes a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Policy from Pomona College.
