Richard Bargh

Richard Bargh serves as the Deputy Chief Executive for Policy, Legal, and Strategy at New Zealand Customs Service since January 2014, leading the policy and legal functions. Previous roles at New Zealand Customs include Group Manager for Revenue and Assurance, where leadership spanned teams focused on trade assurance and revenue management, and Manager of Service Delivery, overseeing customer service and stakeholder relationships. Prior experience includes Acting Group Manager of Policy and Manager of Trade Facilitation and Compliance, where responsibilities encompassed advising on customs policy and trade issues. Additionally, Richard led the International Relations Team, guiding New Zealand Customs' international engagement efforts. Richard Bargh holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.
