Karen Bayne is an experienced professional currently serving as an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury since 2021 and as a Senior Scientist at Scion since 2001. With a focus on the interactions and perceptions of individuals regarding forested and built environments, Karen's work informs forest planning, wood systems development, and forest products marketing. Prior roles include Unit Manager for the Built Environment, leading the "Consumer Solutions for the Built Environment" research program, and serving as a research coordinator for Beacon Pathway's Now Home initiative. Karen's earlier experience includes positions as a Product Development Technologist and Research Scientist at the New Zealand Forest Research Institute. Karen holds an MCom (Hons) in Marketing Management from the University of Otago and a BTech in Product Development from Massey University.
