Matt Buys has an extensive background in plant systematic research and curation, having worked at various institutions such as Scion, the South African National Biodiversity Institute, and North West University. With a Ph.D. in Plant Systematics from Stellenbosch University, Matt has held positions such as Senior Plant Systematist, Senior Lecturer, and Herbarium Curator. Matt currently serves as a Curator for the National Forestry Herbarium & Xylarium at Scion, where Matt also leads projects in BioCollections and Plant Systematics & Collections.
