Rene de Monchy is an experienced executive in the tourism and marketing sectors. Currently serving as Chief Executive at Tourism New Zealand since August 2015, Rene has also held positions as Director Commercial and Director of Trade, PR & Major Events within the organization. Additional roles include Board Member at New Zealand Story Group, Board Member at Tourism Industry Aotearoa, and Director at Qualmark New Zealand, all since January 2021. Prior to this, Rene gained significant experience in the brewing industry, having worked as Marketing Director at Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore and as a Marketing Manager for various brands at DB Breweries and Heineken N.V. Rene holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing & International Business from The University of Auckland and is currently completing the Company Directors Course in Governance from the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
