Altheia Lesley Richardson, PhD has a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion leadership roles. Altheia Lesley currently holds the position of Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging at Newberry College since May 2023. Prior to that, they had a long tenure at Clemson University where they served as the Associate Vice President for Strategic Diversity Leadership starting in January 2023. Altheia Lesley also held the role of Assistant Vice President for Strategic Diversity Leadership from 2018 to January 2023 and served as the Executive Director of the Harvey and Lucinda Gantt Multicultural Center from August 2015 to January 2018. Before their time in diversity leadership, they served as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Clemson University from 2002 to 2015. Overall, Dr. Richardson has extensive experience in promoting diversity and inclusion within educational institutions.

Altheia Lesley obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Educational Leadership and Administration from Clemson University in 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Clemson University in 1995. Altheia Lesley Richardson initiated their academic path by completing their Bachelor of Science (B.A.Sc.) from the University of South Carolina in 1991, majoring in Business Administration and Management.
